Scouter for 65 years- Ernie Hansche funeral arrangements

Published by laurenmartin24@gmail.com on 2015-04-02
Dear Mt Monadnock Scouters,

Those of you who attended the March Roundtable learned of the recent passing of 96 year old Ernie Hansche of Spofford. Ernie was not a Scout in his youth, but had been registered as a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, troop committee member and unit commissioner since 1950. His obituary can be found here: Ernie Hansche obituary(external link)

Funeral arrangements have now been announced: Saturday April 11th at 1:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Keene, 105 Maple Ave. If you are able to come, please let's wear our uniforms and try to sit together in solidarity and appreciation for the numerous lives Ernie touched through Scouting.

Ernie was involved in Scouting for almost 65 years! Imagine all the youth upon whom he had a positive impact. Imagine all the adult leaders whom he guided and supported, who then had a greater positive impact on even more youth. The legacy Ernie has left cannot possibly be measured, but continues to ripple out to all the people affected by the positive leaders he helped shape.

While many of you reading this may not have known Ernie, we cannot help but feel awed by the story of this caring man. Whether or not you can attend his service, please pause for a moment to say a prayer for the repose of Ernie's soul. We have a friend in heaven who is looking down on us with a twinkle in his eyes, cheering us on as we reach out to the Scouting youth in Mt Monadnock District.

God bless you, Ernie!

Yours in Scouting,
Lauren Martin, Mt Monadnock District Commissioner
