My name is Josh Beaucher and I'm your new District Executive. I am really glad I've got to meet a lot of you so far and everyone has been extremely nice and welcoming. I grew up in Litchfield NH and moved to Nashua NH my freshman year of Highscool. I am an Eagle scout from Troop 11 which is in Litchfield and continued to attend scouts there well after I moved away. My favorite scout activities include my troops annual thanksgiving luau trip to Wilmont NH where we cook turkeys under ground and the high adventure 5 day backpacking trip through the white mountains. I am a New Hampshire native through and through. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2013 with a bachelors in anthropology which I mainly focused in archaeology and I have a minor in psychology and classics. While attending UNH I served as a Teaching Assistant for a hands on campus archaeology class. I also was apart of a non profit local fraternity where I held the position of philanthropy chair. For four months last summer I was assisting in an archaeological dig and field school in Belize. I worked with some amazing people on the BREA project, including some of the leading Mayan archaeologists, professors and students. I learned how to operate a total station, map the entire archaeological site of Saturday Creek, as well as how to do recon, lay out and excavate a site. My summer in Belize was very exciting but I am so glad to be out of the most humid place I have ever been in my life. New Hampshire is paradise compared to the jungles of Belize. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my first blog. If any of you need anything you can contact me at Joshua.Beaucher at scouting.org, give me a call or shoot me a text at 603-785-7552. I really am looking forward to this amazing opportunity to work with the beautiful and awesome Mt Monadnock District!
Yours in Scouting
